Safety:
The site turns into and out of the busy Derby Road, access is below the brow of a hill.
Caravans move slowly. A61 already prone to accidents

Public Footpath:
Residents use the public footpath which runs across this land, it is a shortcut to bus stops, especially for residents with walking difficulties.

Children's play area:
There is a covenant on this land to be used for children to play on.

Traveller's cultural way of living should be respected and considered.

What should also be considered includes:
-Impact on residents.
-Impact on property prices.
-Privacy for existing residents, and travellers (being overlooked).
-Site being set on a hill
-Possible Flood Risk.
-New housing estate across the road, and impact on the sales of these new homes.
-Proximity to existing residential properties.

Original submission

I write to you with objections to your proposals for a Travellers Site on Greenaway.
I under that this has been withdrawn but still kept in?

This site has to be one of the least suitable Derbyshire could have considered.
I recognise that Travellers should have a place to stay awhile but certainly not on Greenaway.
My reasons for objecting are:

Safety
The site turns into and out of the already busy Derby Road.
The entrance / exit is below the brow of a hill.
Caravans move slowly.
This road is already prone to accidents

Public Footpath
Residents use the public footpath which runs across this land and it has been a welcome short cut to bus stops especially for residents with walking difficulties.

Children's play area
I believe there is a covenant on this land to be used for children to play on.

There are many points to be considered when making the decision on this site. Some I have listed below.
We need to acknowledge that Travellers are generally a private living community with a different culture to the residents of the Adlingtons estate and so their needs to be addressed and considered when identifying any resting site planned for them. Their cultural way of living should be respected and considered to a very high level.

1 The impact this would have on residents.
2 Impact on property prices.
3 Reduction of privacy for existing residents
4 Little privacy for the travellers.
5 The site is set on a hill
6 Possible flooding created lower down by the site should hard standing be put in.
7 There is a new housing estate being built across the road. Would this site impact on the sales of these new homes.
8 The site is far too close to existing residential properties.
9 Would the Travellers want to be overlooked?
